Starry Sky Pack Legend
Book One:
Myrelda’s Tale
By: Asumi W. Dafukk
Chapter 1
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
-Jimi Hendrix
Flashes of light encircled me, blinding me and making my eyes blink rapidly. It somehow felt safe, unlike the air feeling thick and hot like standing in fire. I flicked my eyes toward every flash but had always disappeared as quickly as it came. Another wolf’s scent clouded my nose, but I saw no wolf. Frantically I looked around, hoping that other wolf could explain to me what these lights were. I opened my mouth slightly to drink in all the scents; no wolf. It seems the scent was like the lights, if you blink, you’ll miss it. My eyes must’ve adjusted to all flashing, so I started to walk hoping to get out of the circle but they followed my paw steps. “Myrelda,” A male wolf called my name, smooth like waves on the shore. “Come here, Myrelda” I looked around, seeing no wolf or any creature. But something did catch my eye, the flashing lights around me seemed to try and hide it, but I saw it: a tiny ember in the distance. I ran straight for that, it drew closer and closer but this time the lights didn’t follow me. The warm fire felt soothing, I closed my eyes and savored ever bit of this smell. I sat down, I didn’t want to go anywhere away from this fire. Fur brushed against my back, that made me tense then someone’s breath brushed into my ear, “Hush now, Myrelda, no need to be afraid of me. I didn’t come here to hurt you. You enjoy the heat don’t you?” He asked in a low rumbling sound like thunder. A lump formed in my throat, but I managed to nod to the older wolf. As he circled me I was able to get a good view of him; large, black, muscular, with orange and red on every tip of fur like flames. “Dearest Myrelda, so young but so much potential.” He said in his thunder voice. “W-Who are you?” I managed to squeeze out. “That doesn’t matter right now,” He continued rubbing against me, rubbing his muzzle into mine, in the same position as my mother and father take up. “But what’s your name?” I continued to look at his rosy amber eyes that seemed to be flames themselves.
